Friends who travel together stay together.
Nobody knows that better than best friends Gabrielle Profit and Katrina Craft Trifilo. The fun duo recently decided to merge their skills and love of adventure and form a full-service travel agency – Besties That Travel.
“Travel ignites our five senses,” added Trifilo. “We love meeting and connecting with people, exploring new places, learning about new cultures and their way of life.”
Both Profit and Trifilo are New Orleans natives and travel enthusiasts. They have been friends for over 25 years and together they have been booking and organizing trips for over 10 years.
In their new mission, Business Partners aim to serve as personal travel concierges to meet all travel needs. Besties That Travel provides several services including flight booking, accommodation, private transportation, day trip and itinerary planning.
“We also serve as a travel advocate – keeping our customers informed of changes during the pandemic,” Profit added.
The idea to start the travel agency was born during the summer 2020 pandemic while vacationing on a “besties” trip to Destin.
“Initially, the idea was to present it as a travel blog,” Trifilo said. “Due to the pandemic and the travel freeze, we have posted our previous trips and blogged about them. We started getting inquiries from people asking if we had booked a trip as well.
After seeking advice and logistical assistance, Trifilo and Profit became partners and are now open for business.
“I’ve been a travel agent for four years and I already had the experience,” Profit said. “So this new venture quickly became a full-fledged business for us. We realized it was more than just a blog.
At Besties That Travel, packages are customized for clients such as couples, solo travelers, groups, and business travelers.
“Our customers differ in destination, budget and other needs, so no two packages are the same,” Trifilo said. “We use our expertise in every consultation to work with our clients’ needs and their specific budget.”
COVID-19 has had a huge impact on the travel, tourism and hospitality industry. And with the distribution of the vaccine, countries and communities look forward to rebuilding and renewing traveler interest.
“I believe this pandemic has increased people’s desire to travel. Even those who didn’t think of it before,” added Profit. “As more and more people get vaccinated, fears of traveling during this time are easing somewhat.”
The “besties” have several upcoming projects, including a women’s group excursion. “We have a group trip planned for October this year to Bali, Indonesia. We had 10 places open and we quickly sold out,” Trifilo said. “This will be our first group trip as a company and we really excited to explore Bali with a group of like-minded women.”
The duo are also launching a new line of travel apparel, BTT Apparel, in summer 2021. “It’s a fun product that can be worn on vacation or just for a regular day,” Profit said.
With their passion for travel, Trifilo and Profit plan to create unforgettable travel experiences while offering guidance along the way.
“Our inspiration lies in our own passion for travel,” said Profit. “We love that our enthusiasm for it is contagious and that we are able to inspire others to travel or do something outside of their daily lives.”
