A number of airlines have revealed they will be taking part in Black Friday sales this year, offering discounts on flights to destinations around the world.

And with discounts available at this year’s event, now might be the perfect time to book that trip you’ve been hoping to take – or head out for a winter break.

While many hopeful travelers will err on the side of caution when planning their vacations, airlines aim to build customer confidence and in many cases offer free flight changes and modifications amid the pandemic.

Most of these deals are only available for a limited time – and subject to availability – but this is the perfect opportunity to save money on the cost of travel.

British Airways

British Airways Holidays is launching a range of Black Friday deals, with savings available on short and long-haul holidays.

Discounts will be available on all British Airways Holidays bookings made between Thursday November 26 and midnight Saturday November 28, 2020.

The holiday provider also offers a wide range of two-night breaks in Europe for just £99, including destinations such as Barcelona, ​​Bilbao, Warsaw, Budapest and Prague. Additionally, a number of European hotels, including Mr & Mrs Smith properties, are offering 50% off their hotel prices during Black Friday when booked with British Airways Holidays. There are also deals for those traveling further afield, with great deals to the Caribbean and Cancun, including up to £200 off all-inclusive holidays at select hotels.

Meanwhile, travelers in the US can upgrade to World Traveler Plus from just £200 return per person, when making a flight and hotel booking during this time.

Virgin Atlantic

Virgin Atlantic launched its Black Friday sale on November 23, 2020.

Passengers can get a discount on premium return flights from £999 as well as 50% off award seats.

Additionally, flights to St Vincent with Economy Light start from £349, Premium from £599 and Upper Class from £999.

Customers booking with Virgin Atlantic will benefit from the airline’s flexible booking policy. Customers can change their travel dates up to two times and change their name once, with associated fees waived, although a fare difference may apply.

While they missed sales last year, for 2020 Easyjet launched its Black Friday deal early with 350,000 seats on sale from £24.99 to and from the UK. Reserved seats in the sale are for travel between December 10, 2020 and June 30, 2021.

Cheap Black Friday tickets are available until December 2, 2020 and subject to availability.

Ryanair has decided to launch a buy one get one free offer on some of its tickets.

This means you can take a companion with you (travel restrictions permitting) to get away from the misery of the UK.

The offer is valid for travel dates between December 1, 2020 and March 27, 2021, and the airline says it will offer the offer on 1,700 routes across its network, meaning there are many proposed European destinations.

The offer is already available to book on the Ryanair website but you’ll need to do so by midnight tomorrow (Friday, November 27) when the sale ends.

A spokesperson confirmed to MEN that the airline would not participate in this year’s Black Friday sales and will not have specific offers on the event.

However, they have cheap seats available on flights to the Canary Islands, Spain and Cyprus over the next few months – with fares to Lanzarote, Tenerife, Madeira, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura starting at £44.

They’ve also launched flights for Spring and Summer 2021, meaning those who want to plan ahead might find a great deal.

Customers can now access Cathay Pacific’s exclusive online Green Friday flight deals to Asia-Pacific from £379.
